My Friend Andy

This is Andy. He wanted me to update my blog. That gave me an idea. How about profiling my friends?! So I'll start with Andy. Any future posts about friends may or may not include fictional characters and/or made up names to protect the identity of the real individuals.

Andy likes to wear this hat. I'm pretty sure it's permanently attached to his head with fake hair coming out of it. Andy has 2 kids and 1 wife. They are good people. Short sentences are good. Andy is short. He likes when people come up to him (Ryan!) and say, "Hey there, lil fella!" Next time you see Andy, do that. He loves it.

Andy is very ....ooops, my timer just went off, time to feed my kids! Hope y'all like the Andy story!!!!

You Know What?

I'm going to keep my blog going. I was a click away from hitting "Delete Blog" when I started reading over my past posts. It's now just a matter of me not feeling like copying the ones I want to keep for memory's sake. I had some fun posts that I would really like to remember and keep them.

I think the main reason I have felt so un-bloggy lately is because my Dad is going through some serious medical issues and it's got me a bit down. I honestly don't know who's reading along any more. But my dear Jason commented that he still checks every day - so that's enough right there for me to keep going. Thanks, Jason!

So, we enter into a new weekend. The last couple days have been so nice and warm. Spring is slowly making a comeback in Virginia!

The kids had a blast on St. Patrick's Day parading around the backyard with 2 Irish flags. The grass is getting greener, the birds are returning in force. Color has been defeating the cold gray Winter dullness.

It always amazes me how we go from lifeless, cold, dark days to Daylight Savings and a sudden awakening of the buds on the trees. During Winter, you feel like there are never-ending cold days and too many snow days and Spring will never come again. But it does, every year. And I never get sick of those first bright and warm days that signal a new beginning. It changes your attitude, it gets you hopping out of bed in the morning instead of dreading the cold day ahead. March is magical in that way. I suppose I am more in tune with it since this is the month of my birth. I was born in New York where Spring took just a little longer to make its presence known. But my Dad always recounts the story of the day I was born. He said it felt like the first day of Spring. It was warm, sunny and delightful after a Winter in New York, that I am sure my parents felt, would never end. They even opened up the window in the room to let in the beautiful warmth of that sunny 12th of March!

Maybe I am rambling on at this point, but I cannot state enough how much I love March and the renewal it brings. Somehow, I bet most of my readers (Jason!) feel the same.

So on that note of renewal, I bring my blog back to life. I hope to be able to post new things, fun things, different things. I hope to be able to post more frequently and try to figure out the right direction for this blog. Thanks for coming along on my journey. Enjoy the Spring!

Shut Down

I want to shut down my blog, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. No one is reading this anyway. I asked over 4 months ago if I should go on. I'll take the silence as a "no." Hope you have enjoyed my posts, even though they became few and far between. If I figure out how to shut this puppy down, I will do so. Last chance to voice an opinion on the matter!

Should I Call It Quits?

I'm not even sure anyone checks this blog anymore. I have been too lazy to blog. Or, have I been too uninspired to blog? I don't know which is the case. I'm wondering if now is the time to close shop. Or I could try to post a wee bit of something a day. It doesn't have to be a huge post, I guess. I've just been out of the habit for so long, I don't know if I can get back into it.

Thought of the day: The Chilean Miners being rescued right now. If you have a bad day today, remember them. At least you weren't stuck in a mine for 70 days.

July's Almost Over!

And you thought I wouldn't squeak in a July post! Well, here it is! I can't say I have much stuff to write about. We went to Ohio for a family reunion. That was fun - kids had a blast running all over the farm where it was held. We also spent a day on the lovely shores of Lake Erie! It was a perfect day, just about 90 degrees and the water of the lake was as clear as I had ever seen it. Good times.

Got home from Ohio, then I headed up to NJ and back again the next day. Long story. Some of you may know it. Anyway, no sooner had I returned from Jersey that I had to prepare for a 3 day visit from my Father-in-law. Which was fine - but I just needed a break, and felt like I would never get one. We had a nice visit with him, and he left just this passed Monday. And then I started to feel achy. As soon as Jason got home Monday evening, I got a fever. I have been sick ever since. So much has just piled on and on and on me lately, I feel like I don't have time to breathe. It's been a bit nuts. Say a prayer for me and my family!

Anyway, I suppose now you want a picture, huh? Well, here you go:

This was the temperature when I went out last Saturday. 104 degrees. It's been one hot July.

June

Michael hitting a water balloon on the last day of Baseball Camp today

I've been thinking about it, and I think June is the best month of the year. More on that later. My "Low Battery" warning just popped up. DANG IT!
